About Me
I’m Elliot Currie, a Mechanical Engineering grad currently working as a “Data Engineer” in a contact centre. I found everything painfully manual and just started fixing it. I didn’t wait for permission or budget. I just started solving problems.
I build tools that save time and reduce friction. Sometimes that means writing Python scripts to automate data collection. Sometimes it means using Power Apps, SharePoint, and Excel like glue to hold together broken workflows. And sometimes it means building entire systems from scratch, because there’s no alternative.
Internal dev teams don’t usually prioritise the daily annoyances of individual departments, they focus on business-wide projects. But when you chip away at time sinks on the ground, the time saved starts to compound. Before long, you’ve got a faster, cleaner, better-performing department.
I don’t care much about job titles. I care about giving people back their time, so they can focus on the parts of their job that actually matter.
Since starting my current job in October, I’ve delivered:
- Systems that automatically collect and structure external market data for lead generation
- Agent performance and outcome reporting
- A gamification system that boosts cultural engagement (not just metrics)
- Notification tools that improve team leader visibility and response times on lead handling
- Real-time call log collection using Playwright and PostgreSQL
- Several focused microtools that removed friction in day-to-day work
What ties it all together? A simple approach: find the bottleneck, fix it, move on, or improve the fix if it’s already in place.
If something’s broken, clunky, or just plain annoying, I’m probably already working on a way to fix it.
